| The International Clinical Practice Guideline on the Use of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Ulcerative Colitis(2023) is the world's first international guideline for the use of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in the treatment of ulcerative colitis.The guideline was led by Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine，Capital Medical University，in collaboration with multiple medical institutions and researchers in China and abroad，and was published in the international journal Phytotherapy Research in February 2024.During the formulation of the guideline，a multi-level clinical issue collection and patient willingness and economic information surveys were conducted.The guideline employed a blended evidence grading system integrating both TCM and Western medicine，along with a standardized method for developing recommendations.Combining the principles of individualized TCM treatment with modern medical evidence，the guideline provides a detailed explanation of the TCM diagnosis，treatment，and management of ulcerative colitis，offering evidence-based support for the use of TCM in treating the condition and promoting the internationalization and modernization of TCM. |
