Guided by theories of Chinese medicine,the causes,pathogenesis,syndrome differentiation and classification,and therapeutic principles of lung cancer were studied,which showed lung cancer was mainly caused by deficiency of healthy qi,cementation of phlegm and qi as well as toxin in lung.Five categories were established according to clinic manifestations:yin deficiency and internal heat,deficiency of qi and yin,spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness,deficiency of yin and yang,qi stagnation and blood stasis.Clinic effectiveness of different therapeutic methods,such as nourishing yin and promoting body fluid,supporting qi and warming yang,supporting qi and nourishing yin were systematically observed,showing Chinese medical therapy can not only relieve symptoms and improve immunity functions and life quality of the patients,but also better stabilize focus of cancer,and prolong survival time,moreover,it has potential advantages in anti-metastases.As deficiency of yin and deficiency of both qi and yin were mostly seen in clinic,Chinese materia medica preparation of Yifei Kangliu drink was prepared,which had function of supporting qi,nourishing yin and detoxicating.We treated patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) by Yifei Kangliu drink and Yifei Kangliu drink plus chemotherapy as well as chemotherapy individually,and compared them in terms of tumor shrinking stability rate,five-year survival rate and median survival rate.The results suggested Yifei Kangliu drink had good effect on NSCLC,and Yifei Kangliu drink plus chemotherapy had even better effect.
