To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and safety of Pu Zao Inflammation-Healing Decoction for the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammation (CPI) of pattern of Damp-heat Toxin Brewing and Binding.Methods:Through the Methods of randomization and using of ornidazole as the positive control drug, 325 patients were observed (163 cases treated with the decoction, 162 cases with ornidazole).Results:The decoction is effective for relieving various symptoms of Chinese medicine (P<0.01); compared with ornidazole, the decoction alleviated the symptoms of lower-abdomen distending and stabbing pain, lumbosacral distending pain, and yellow leukorrhea more effectively (P<0.05), meanwhile, it scored higher in local physical signs scale (P<0.01).Conclusion:Pu Zao Inflammation-Healing Decoction has confirmed curative effect and rare side effect for chronic pelvic inflammation of pattern of Damp-heat Toxin Brewing and Binding.
