To research effect of Tongfu Huayu Daotan tang on S-100β(serum protein)、neuron specific enolase (NSE) of serious head injury, and discuss disease’ progress under influence of Chinese medicine.Methods:Sixty patients were randomly grouped to control group, subject to western comprehensive treatments, and treat group given the medicine in addition. S-100β、NSE tests were taken on 1st day of admission, (after treatment)24h, 36h, 72h, day5, day7 respectively. Effectiveness was evaluated according to Glasgow Outcome Scale and Neurologic Impairment Score in 2,4 weeks following injury occurrence. Results:At time points of 1st day, 24h, 36h, there wasn’t statistic difference between groups (P>0.05); at 72h, day5, day7, the treat group was significantly reduced in S-100βand NSE (P<0.01), and higher evaluated (P<0.05) compared with those of the control group.Conclusion:As a supplement to western comprehensive treatments, Tongfu Huayu Daotan tang is positive for serious head injury as shown by higher scale of GOS and score of neurologic impairment.
