Based on literature research and clinical experience, the article gives a detailed analysis of the key role that qi is playing in the process of digestion from aspects of physiology, pathology, and treatment. Involving organs of spleen, stomach, liver, gallbladder, lung, and kidney, disorder of qi movement is a continuous accompanying factor throughout the whole course of functional dyspepsia; therefore, it is concluded that qi regulation is significant for treatment, research of syndrome nature and clinical medication.
