Modernization of Chinese medicine and deepening of Chinese medicine theory are inseparable from development of TCM syndromes research. Present-day research on TCM syndromes often focused on one specific pattern at one research level, lacking systematic macro (overall)-micro combined methods. Systems biology provides new opportunity for development of TCM syndromes research with scientific techniques and methods.
