To evaluate efficacy of bloodletting of Ci collaterals in combination of external use of Chinese medicine to treat gouty arthritis. Methods: A total of 102 patients of gouty arthritis was treated with bloodletting of Ci collaterals in combination of external use of Chinese medicine. Results: After treatment， biochemical parameter values and symptoms were improved significantly (P<0.05) with a total effective rate of 96.1%. Conclusion: bloodletting of Ci collaterals in combination of external use of Chinese medicine is an effective treatment of gouty arthritis.
