To observe efficacy of integrated TCM therapy for the treatment of pulmonary infection in elderly patients following surgery of hip fracture.Methods: A total of 156 elderly patients of hip fracture following surgery of hip fracture were divided into treatment group (n=81) and control group (n=75). The treatment group were treated with integrated TCM therapy，control group with conventional therapy. After 3-week treatment，the occurrence rate and degree of lung infection were compared.Results: After treatment，there were 4 patients with pulmonary infection in treatment group and 12 in control group，which was statistically significant(χ²=5.177，P=0.023）. The degree of lung infection was (2.78±1.50) in treatment group compared to (3.92±2.31) in control group，the difference was not significant(P>0.05）.Conclusion:Integrated TCM therapy was effective to prevent and control pulmonary infection in elderly patients following surgery of hip fracture.
