Abstract:To analysis the compounds in volatile oil of Cinnamomum caraphora. Methods:The volatile oil of Cinnamomum caraphora were extracted by steam distillation and determined by gas chromatography with area normalization method and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC—MS).Results:Thirty four compounds were identified, accounting for 98.53 percent of the total compounds. The main constituent compound is Borneol and its relative amount is 67.17%. Conclusion:The Borneol content is very high in the fresh branch leaves of Cinnamomum caraphora. This plant is a good resource to be used to extract the natural borneol.
