The discussion of this paper is on the mode of Zhang Zhongjing’s treatment that “Distinguishing the Disease, Pulse, Syndrome and Treatment” is to classify the disease step by step, which points out that the level of the disease is higher than the syndrome. His brilliantness lies in his paying more attention to the concept of the level of the disease classification. This is an embodiment of Zhang Zhongjing’s wisdom. This paper discusses the original formulation and idea of “Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment”. The author’s emphasis on the Modern “Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment” has been away from Zhang Zhongjin’s medical mode. The author also analyzes the modern development of TCM sphygmology which has been affected by the excessive emphasis on "the syndrome differentiation and treatment". The paper also introduces the process of the author’s sphygmology research work. The final part of the paper restates that " Distinguishing the Disease, Pulse, Syndrome and Treatment " is the turning point of the health development of the traditional Chinese medicine.
