To briefly summarize the research progress on prevention and treatment of deep venous thrombosis (DVT), so as to provide some reference information for the prevention and treatment of DVT. Methods: This article gave a brief introduction on the pathogenesis and epidemiological characteristics of DVT, and made a analysis on prevention and treatment of DVT after spinal cord injury. Results: The damage of DVT after spinal cord injury was severe, so the prevention shall be principal; the treatment of DVT was to relieve the main symptoms of acute phase, to maximize the prevention of pulmonary embolism; integrative medicine for prevention and treatment of deep venous thrombosis after spinal cord injury was safe and effective. Conclusion: Chinese medicine combined with modern medicine shows better clinical effectiveness with less adverse reactions and higher safety.
