Abstract:The 2962 patients who came to the clinic of psychology department, Guang’anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences between year 2002 to 2009 and had the tests of MMPI were selected to this study. Retrospective analysis was given on their MMPI test results to see the psychological state and risk factors of patients in psychology department in general hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine in China.Methods:To apply SPSS11.5 to conduct descriptive statistics of frequency distribution.Results:The standard T scores of hypochondriasis and hysteria factors in male and female patients varied between 60 to 70 points, which showed a mild deviation from normal. However T scores of depression factor showed mild deviation from normal only in male. More than half of the patients could be diagnosed as hypochondriasis and hysteria. Taking 60 points of T score as the boundary, bigoted and hypomania were more frequent in female than in male, while less female showed society introversion. Taking the T score over 70 points as the boundary of severity, more females suffered severe hypochondriasis and dementia praecox , and less showed severe society introversion.Conclusion:Gender factor would influence on occurrence or severity of certain symptoms or diseases.
