The methodology on discovering intelligence information founded by professor Don.R.Swanson in Chicago University is a powerful tool to reveal the non-relevant documents and hiden links between disciplines. This article briefly introduces the method of closed types of knowledge discovery process as well as the Arrowsmith software，and also explores its application in the prediction of adverse effects of Chinese herb.
