The development and utilization of ancient books of Chinese medicine is essential for the development of contemporary Chinese medicine. This article made a summative review to the publishing work of ancient books of Chinese medicine since the founding of new China, which included modern translation and language interpretation of the classic ancient books of Chinese medicine, specialization of the publishing work, copy and return of overseas’ ancient books of Chinese medicine and the translation and dissemination of the classic ancient books of Chinese medicine. It also prospected the digitization of ancient books of Chinese medicine.
