Abstract:A large number of basic and clinical studies have demonstrated that inflammation plays a vital role in atherosclerosis formation and evolution. Inflammation factors stimulate the formation and rupture of unstable coronary atherosclerotic plaque. Then the thrombosis formed is the main reason of most acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Sodium tanshinone IIA sulfonate(STS) is applied for Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) which can improve blood circulation and inhibit inflammation. This paper reviewed on the relevance between STS and CHD related inflammatory factors including C-reactive protein (CRP),homocysteine(Hcy),Tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF - α),Human leukocyte differentiation antigen 40 (CD40),fibrinogen(Fib),interleukin-6(IL-6),matrix metal loprotoinases (MMPs),nuclear factor-кB(NF- кB),so as to explore specific links of STS’s affection in inflammatory factors with CHD to provide curing reference in the future.
