To observe the clinical effect of activating Yang method combined with western medicine to treat unstable angina pectoris of coronary heart disease. Methods： The 258 admitted in our department from 2010 March to 2013 March were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The control group applied western medicine, and the treatment group gave patients extra application of Tongyangshuxin decoction. Statistical analysis of the effect was made after 4 weeks of treatment. Results： Both group showed significant differences before and after treatment in terms of the frequency of angina attack, duration and dosage of nitroglycerin (P<0.05); there were also significant differences in terms of the total curative rate, in the above 3 aspects and ECG between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion： Activating Yang method combined with western medicine in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris of coronary heart disease is better than single application of western medicine treatment, and it is worthy of clinical application.
