Literature study was carried on to systematically analyze Professor Yuanjiurong’s 60 years of academic archives on Chinese medicine.It was discovered that the thoughts of system science and the multidisciplinary collaborative innovation thoughts were throughout his research， teaching， management and discipline construction field.Hence， system science of Chinese Materia Medica academic thought was formed， producing a series of innovative theory and technology， which played an important role in practicing Chinese medicine studies， ensuring drug safety， establishing discipline， cultivating talents and promoting development and modernization of Chinese medicine.
