In this article，Basic research，clinical etiology，diagnosis and treatment guideline of chronic cough and etiopathogenisis and pathogenesis of chronic cough in Traditional Chinese medicine，clinical reports with Chinese herbs in recent 5 years were briefly reviewed and high level Chronic cough clinical research with Chinese medicine is expected.
