To evaluate the clinical efficacy of freeing-vessel and eliminating dampness type of Chinese medicine treating forefoot swelling after Wen’s hallux valgus osteotomy.Methods：Forty one patients have 63 affected feet treated in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2013 with forefoot swelling after Wen’s hallux valgus osteotomy were given freeing-vessel and eliminating dampness type of Chinese medicine. The pain and swelling changes were observed.Results：The forefoot swelling of patients in the treatment group was significantly reduced compared with the control group, and there was a significant difference between the two groups（P＝0.017＜0.05）.The forefoot pain of patients in the treatment group compared with the control group was significantly relieved, and there was a significant difference between the two groups（P＝0.022＜0.05）.Conclusion：The treatment of forefoot swelling after Wen’s hallux valgus osteotomy by applying freeing-vessel and eliminating dampness types of Chinese medicine shows a good effect with no adverse reactions. It is worth of clinical application.
