To observe the clinical effect of Jianpi Huayu Lishui formula treating ascites due to cirrhosis after hepatitis B.Methods:Two hundred and twenty liver cirrhosis patients with ascites treated in our hospital in recent 4 years were selected and randomly divided into control group (n=110) and treatment group (n=110).The control group used conventional western medicine treatment，such as diuretic，protecting liver，reducing enzyme and antiviral treatment; patients in the treatment group were given extra treatment of Jianpi Huayu Lishui decoction.One course of treatment was 4 weeks.Statistical analysis was conducted.Results:The total effective rate in the treatment group and control group showed significant differences (P<0.05)，and the improvement of symptoms and liver function were better in the treatment group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Jianpi Huayu Lishui Decoction treating liver cirrhosis ascites shows definite therapeutic effect，and it is worthy of further study and application.
