Professor Li Shunmin learnt from Professor Deng Tietao the correlation of five viscera. Prof. Li is good at treating kidney diseases from the spleen, and he thought that one of the basic pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease was spleen deficiency. There we must give special attention to keep the spleen strong when we treat kidney diseases. This paper summarized the clinical experience of Professor Li in treating kidney diseases, i.e. chronic renal failure, chronic nephritis and hematuria from the spleen.
