To compare contents of extractives， volatile oil， active constituent of White Atractylodes Rhizome material medica and prepared slices produced from six different habitat regions， such as Zhejiang， Jiangxi， Anhui provinces. Methods： The assay was performed according to the methods of TLC identification and extract determination under the standard of White Atractylodes Rhizome in Chinese Pharmacopoeia (Edition 2010)， as well as the method of volatile oil determination in the appendix of Chinese Pharmacopeia’ (Edition 2010). Results： Several quality indicators of White Atractylodes Rhizome produced in Wuning in Jiangxi province showed that it does not only have higher quality than the set standard on Pharmacopoeia， but also better than genuine regional material medica. Conclusion： The White Atractylodes Rhizome produced in Wuning in Jiangxi province has excellent quality.
