This article mainly summarizes the chemical components and pharmacological effects of Pterocephalus hookeri as a commonly used Tibetan medicine， in which triterpenoid saponins and iridoid glycoside are the main ingredients that have anti-tumor activity. This article also reviews systematically their anti-tumor activity and research progress in recent years so as to provide reference for the research application of Pterocephalus hookeri.
