Abstract:After looking up to literature in different ages, this paper concluded that the correlation between liver storing blood and blood circulation differed to each other, especially after the age of Huitong academic school when western medicine was introduced to China. Western medicine brought the idea of heart governs blood circulation to China, and thus the “life-gate generating blood” gradually faded. Moreover, “liver governing nerve” has emerged, which explained why liver storing blood correlated to blood circulation.
