Abstract:Analyzed in the paper are the five aspects of the clinical experience drawn from Professor Du Yumao, a distinguished physician of Chinese medicine, who devoted his whole life to teaching and clinical research rigorously and whole-heartedly. These five aspects include careful observation and attention to any syndrome of every case on any occasion in clinic; learning from lessons and correcting errors; proper herbal dosages based on patients’ specific conditions; focusing on syndrome differentiation to decide treatment and opposing herbal administration the same way western drugs are applied; and familiarizing herbal actions with dosage decision according to patients’ syndromes. The analysis is based on the book Du Yumao-A Series of Hundreds of Distinguished Physicians in Chinese Medicine for Centuries.
