To investigate the clinical efficacy Dachengqi decoction combined with Xuebijing in treating early severe pancreatitis and its influence on TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8. Methods: Sixty cases of patients in our hospital enrolled during February 2012 to 2014 who was diagnosed of severe pancreatitis were randomly divided into two groups, with 30 cases in each. The control group received conventional western medicine treatment and the observation group use plus nasogastric Dachengqi decoction continuously 7 days, and Xuebijing intravenous treatment, 50ml bid infusion, 10 days. The clinical efficacy, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 content changes of the two groups were observed. Results: After treatment, abdominal pain, bloating disappeared time, abdominal tenderness disappeared time, resumed eating in the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The duration of white blood cells returned to normal, urine amylase recovery duration in the observation group was shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05). Serum TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 levels in both groups have declined, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Besides, the degree of decline in the observation group was more significant than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Dachengqi decoction and Xuebijing can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients with severe pancreatitis, can reduce serum TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 and other cytokines content. It is worthy of clinical application.
