To explore clinical efficacy of Dansong pulse-activating decoction on atrial premature beat with qi and yin deficiency and to promote clinical experience of Gao Caida in the treatment of palpitation. Methods: Eighty cases were chosen from May 2014 to April. 2015 in shunyi district of Beijing Hospital of TCM. Patients were randomly divided into two groups (the treatment group and the control group), with 40 cases in each group. Modified Dan-song pulse-activating decoction was applied in the treatment group while the control group was treated with Wenxin particles (produced by Shandong Step Pharmaceutical co., LTD.). Each group was treated for 4 weeks. Results: The number of missing case in the treatment group and the control group was 1 and 2 respectively. The treatment group was obviously superior to the control group in the clinical efficacy and the effective rate in the two groups was 89.7% and 68.4% respectively. Conclusion: Dansong pulse-activating decoction can effectively treat atrial premature beat with qi and yin deficiency. The improvement of total TCM syndrome integral in the treatment group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05) without any significant adverse reaction.
