To evaluate the effect of Chinese herbal medicine on blood pressure in pre-hypertensive cases.Methods:Domestic and international databases were searched for relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs)which investigated the effect of Chinese herbal medicine on blood pressure in pre-hypertensive cases.Heterogeneity of cross-studies was assessed,using I2All meta-analyses were conducted through RevMan 520Results:Eight RCTs involving 1005 subjects were selected.Meta-analysis demonstrated that the test group reduces the level of both systolic blood pressure(WMD:-365; 95%CI:-535~-194;P<001,I2:87%)and diastolic blood pressure(WMD:-258; 95%CI:-430~-086;P<001; I2:93%),compared with the control group.The difference was statistically significant.Conclusion:Basing on lifestyle intervention,Chinese herbal medicine helped reducing the level of blood pressure.
