Abstract:To observe the curative effect of Viper Anti-snakebite Decoction on viper bites. Methods:A hundred cases of hospitalized patients for viper bites from May 2015 to October 2015in the hospital were collected and randomly divided into two groups (group A & group B). Patients in group A received conventional western medicine treatment (namely viper venom, hormones, antibiotics and other western medicine treatment), while patients in the B group were additionally given Viper Anti-snakebite Decoction on basis of group A treatment. Age, gender, location, duration, score of phantom pain, and swelling condition of patients in the two groups were recorded and observed. Differences between the two groups in the recorded indexes were compared. Results:There was no significant statistical difference in age, gender, location and duration between the two groups (P>0.05). phantom pain score and swelling improvement of patients in B group showed statistically significant difference compared with group A(P<0.01), indicating therapy for group B was better than that of group A. Conclusion:Viper Anti-snakebite Decoction has a positive therapeutic effect for viper bites patients.
