Abstract:To observe clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of insomnia. Methods:Ninety patients with insomnia admitted in the department from March 2015 to December 2015 were selected and randomly divided into the control group and observation group, with 45 cases in each. The control group received oral estazolam, once a day with one tablet before sleep for two weeks. The observation group had acupuncture with the main points of Ganshu (BL18), Xinshu (BL15), Pishu (BL20), Feishu (BL13), Shenshu (BL23), Qimen (LR14), Jingming (BL1) and Yongquan (KI1), once a day and 4 times a week, for 2 weeks. Results:1) The effective rate of the observation group was 86.66% and that of the control was 68.88%, showing statistically significant differences (P<0.05). 2) PSQI each factor and total score between the two groups before and after treatment showed statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Sleep quality, sleep duration, daytime dysfunction and other indexes of the total score of the observation group was lower than those of the control group (P<0.05), which indicated the statistically significant difference. The efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group. 3) IL-1β, IL-6, 5-HT and TNF-α between the two groups before the treatment showed no statistically significant differences but those of the treatment group were significantly lower with better efficacy after the treatment compared with the control group 2 (P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture in Insomnia has a significant clinical effect with low cost but no obvious adverse effects, which is worth promoting.
