This paper preliminarily explored and analyzed Professor Lyu Renhe′s academic thoughts，methods and experiences on treating diabetes mellitus by collating Lyu′s academic thoughts on theory，manifestation，evolution and treatment of diabetes mellitus，and combining with Professor Lyu′s medical notes，thoughts and principles of treatment referring Pi-Dan period，Xiao-Ke period and Xiao-Dan period，and pathogenesis and therapeutic methods theory about “micro abdominal mass”.These academic thoughts not only explore and carry forward the classic theory，but also accord with the concept of modern diabetes diagnosis and treatment，which is instructive to expand the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and its complications.
