Physicians over the ages have different understandings of the “qi rushing upward” in the 15th clause of Treatise on Cold-induced Febrile Diseases. Based on the original text of related to Bentun disease in the Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Disease， combined with the comments of the ShangHanXuanJie which was composed by Huang Yuanyu， this research analyzes the Bentun symptoms and pathogenesis and puts forward that the so-called “the qi rushing upward” can also be caused by heart Yang dejecting and apathetic and liver Qi inversing， so Guizhi Decoction can also be used for the treatment of light Bentun Syndrome.
