To look for the research direction of Zicao Oil or Compound Zicao Oil.Methods:Through the literature retrieval and the establishment of data extraction table，this article screened out the 135 contrastive study papers，in which Zicao Oil or Compound Zicao Oil was in the treatment group and counted the 135 articles from various angles.Results:1)According to research direction:There were 3 studies in animal studies，132 in clinical observation and only 5 in action mechanism.2)According to the type of the disease:Diaper dermatitis，skin wounds，mucosal injury，burns were most among them.Then pressure sores and radioactive dermatitis followed.Papers on eczema and incontinent dermatitis were the least.3)According to treatment regimens of the treatment group:A total of 91 papers were on the combined medications.4)According to the preparation methods of Zicao Oil or Compound Zicao Oil:Soaking and high temperature were used 66 articles.5)According to the count of the auxiliary oil:A total of 71 articles used sesame oil.6)According to the count of the approval document number:The number was only 12.7. According to the count of drug composition of Compound Zicao Oil:In addition to Zicao，Bomeolum Syntheticum，Radix Angelicae Dahuricae，Radix Sanguisorbae，and Cortex Phellodendri appeared more than 20 times.Conclusion:Zicao Oilor Compound Zicao Oil for external use had good curative effect.The combined medication scan improve the therapeutic effect.The action mechanism needs further study.The combination of the clinical treatment regimens，the preparation method，the variety of the auxiliary oil，the market management of the preparations and drug composition of Compound Zicao Oil are to be regulated.
