To investigate the clinical efficacy of Zhiling capsule combined with mFOLFOX6 method in treating elderly advanced rectal carcinoma.Methods:A total of 86 patients with elderly advanced rectal carcinoma who were treated in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group (43 cases) and control group (43 cases).The patients of control group were treated by mFOLFOX6 method，while the patients of observation group were given Zhiling capsule based on conventional treatment of control group.The curative effects were evaluated after treatment in the two groups.The 1 year survival rate，2 year survival rate，OS and TTP were observed to evaluate the long-term effects in the two groups.The toxicity of the two groups was compared during the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the patients in the observation group was 76.7%，which was significantly higher than the 60.5 % in the control group (P<0.05).The 2 year survival rate，OS and TTP of the patients in the observation group were 62.8%，17.3 months and 10.7 months，significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05).There were no serious toxicity in the two groups during the treatment，and the rates of toxicity were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Zhiling capsule combined with mFOLFOX6 method in the therapy of elderly advanced rectal carcinoma has good effects，which is worthy of further research.
