To investigate the clinical efficiency of acupuncture on Fengchi (GB 20) point for hypertension and its effect on serum TNF-α level. Methods:A total of 600 cases who came to acupuncture department for residence treatment diagnosed as primary hypertension and complied with the absorbing principles were selected and randomly divided into control group and treatment group, with 300 cases in each group. Control group received amlodipine besylate pill, and treatment group received acupuncture on Fengchi (GB 20) point on the basis of control group. 7 days were 1 treatment course, and 2 groups totally received 2 courses. After the treatment, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure, TNF-α levels and treatment efficiency were compared. Results:Compared with before treatment, the diastolic pressure and systolic pressure of 2 groups decreased significantly after treatment (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and treatment group was lower than control group (P<0.01). Compared with before treatment, the serum TNF-α levels of 2 groups decreased significantly (P<0.05), and treatment group was lower than control group (P<0.01); The effective rate of control group was 82.31%, and the treatment group was 91.03%. The difference between 2 groups was significant (P<0.01). Conclusion:Acupuncture on Fengchi (GB 20) point may improve the decreasing blood pressure of amlodipine besylate pill and ameliorate the serum TNF-α level.
