Abstract:To study the hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic effects of total flavonoids from pomace of Fructus Hippophae. Methods:A total of 72 Kunming male mice were randomly divided into six groups (n=12 in each group):normal group, model group, simvastatin group, low-dose flavonoid group, middle-dose flavonoid group and high-dose flavonoid group.Except the blank control group, the mice were fed with high fat diets to induce hyperlipidemia. The body weight of mice was measured every day, and the dose was adjusted according to the weight. On the 40th day, the mice were decapitated and the TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C were detected.Changes of weight and viscera indexes were observed. The hypoglycemic activity of polysaccharide was investigated by animal experiments. Results:Compared with model group, the TC, TG and LDL-C of serum in the flavonoid groups were deceased significantly (P<0.05) and HDL-C was increased significantly (P<0.05).The total flavonoids from pomace of Fructus Hippophae group decreased fasting blood glucose values significantly (P<0.05).Conclusion:The total flavonoids from pomace of Fructus Hippophae have hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic effects.
