Abstract:The application of traditional Chinese medicine in New Zealand started from 1970s.After more than 40 years of development,it has been largely accepted by the public,but the study of traditional Chinese medicine resources system in New Zealand is still blank.This study systematically summarized and sorted out the varieties of traditional Chinese medicine resources in New Zealand.Methods:This study reviewed the main literatures of China and New Zealand and summarized the New Zealand traditional Chinese medicine resources.Results:There were 253 kinds of natural Chinese medicine in New Zealand,among which there were 229 kinds of herbs,19 kinds of animal drugs and 5 kinds of mineral drugs.In herbs,the species of compositae,leguminosae and rosaceae were the top three; All Chinese herbal plant species were almost entirely foreign species and were mainly herbs.Most of the animal drugs were different from those in China.Conclusion:The author thought that the number of traditional Chinese medicine in New Zealand and common species in clinic were very limited.Chinese medicine species of New Zealand and China had yet to be developed.
