Evaluation of Research Methods and Characteristics of Acupuncture and Moxibustion for Knee Osteoarthritis in Foreign SCI Literatures in Recent Five Years
The clinical trials of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for knee osteoarthritis in recent five years were studied by screening the literatures of SCI journals with high impact factors including clinical trials designed by foreign scholars. Through extracted information and analyzed research methods and characteristics, it was found that the design of intervention lacks the thinking of TCM principle and pays little attention to the “arrival of qi” in acupuncture and moxibustion treatment. There was a great difference between foreign and Chinese TCM thinking model. This design characteristic is very important to lead to the conclusion that there is no difference between acupuncture and sham acupuncture which has been obtained by many experiments in recent years.
