In Malaysia，the term integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine refers to the policy of Ministry of Health Malaysia to incorporate the traditional and complementary medicines into the existing western medicine dominated healthcare delivery system for co-existence of both medical practices that enhance the health outcome and wellness of Malaysian.In 2006，the Malaysian government launched a project to incorporate selected practice of traditional and complementary medicine into the government hospitals.This paper reviewed and evaluated the development of the integration policy.It is concluded that there is a need to propose a strategic framework suitable for Malaysia condition so as to provide theoretical guide for the formulation of strategic direction in the next ten years.It is also concluded that the future development of the integration should take into consideration the cultural origin，internal development trends as well as establish clear relationships and strategic positioning of the respective medical practices.
