To have an in-depth understanding of the effects of Multiple Sclerosis(MS)symptom fluctuation on patients,and their understanding towards TCM treatment of MS from the viewpoint of patients themselves.Methods:The qualitative research method with semi-structured in-depth interview was adopted,and the grounded theory was utilized in the summary and analysis of interview data.Results:It was found that fluctuation of MS symptoms can lead to disease symptoms,accompanying symptoms,other symptoms and other discomfort in various aspects,which can result in psychological changes,such as frustration,edginess,fear,depression and helplessness,etc.And the psychological changes can in turn aggravate patient's perception towards the MS symptoms,which becomes a vicious circle.The effect of traditional Chinese medicine is mainly in the improvement of symptoms,stabilization of disease activity and overall regulation from patients' experience.Conclusion:The evaluation dimension of MS outcome should be more focused on symptom,psychology and patient's self-report.The evaluation of the curative effects of MS and the therapeutic effects of TCM should be comprehensive and fair.Meanwhile,patient-centered,individualized treatment strategies should be made.
