Through analyzing the patent applications and grants related to the treatment of the new coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) in the field of traditional Chinese medicine，the grant status of Chinese patent applications was mainly introduced，especially the characteristics of the granted patents.The current research methods and patent protection status of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of NCP was expounded by cases of representative compositions，extracts，and pharmaceutical use licenses，so as to provide reference for the treatment and research of COVID-19 and help the epidemic prevention.
