To summarize rules and methods of Chinese materia medica in auxiliary treatment of hypertension.Methods:With theme terms of “external treatment of Chinese materia medica” and “hypertension”,related clinical research literature in CNKI(January 2010 to October 2019)was retrieved.Treatment methods recorded in the literature was sorted out.A database was established.And the treatment methods,combined medication,high-frequency medicines,medication methods and dosage,frequency of external use,course of treatment,time,location,precautions,etc.in the external treatment of hypertension were summarized.Results:A total of 389 literatures on clinically external treatment of hypertension were screened out.The treatment methods were mainly combined medication,with less simple therapy,accounting for 84.31% and 15.68%,respectively.The medication frequency,medication methods and dosage,course of treatment,time of single medication,location of medication and precautions were different due to different ways of administration.Conclusion:External treatment of Chinese materia medica in hypertension commonly includes acupoint application of Chinese materia medica,auricular point application and press,as well as foot bath combined with other treatment methods for joint treatment.The external treatment as an auxiliary means,the effect is accurate,and it is widely used.
