The Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19） falls into the category of “epidemic disease” in TCM. The main causes are virus infection and vital Qi deficiency. The basic pathogenesis are pestilenceinfection, affected upper jiao, vital Qi deficiency and Sanjiao transmission. The location of the disease is in the lung, which is closely related to the spleen, heart, liver and kidney. The pathomechanism involves dampness, toxin, heat, blood stasis, deficiency and blockade. Sanjiao syndrome differentiation, along withWei,Qi,Ying,Xue syndrome differentiation, six channel theory differentiation and Zang,Fu syndrome differentiation should be adopted in the treatment. The fifth edition of Diagnosis and Treatment Scheme of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia could be followed in syndrome differentiation, the viewpoint of WU Youke's theory in Wenyi Lun of “dispel pathogen as the top priority” should be followed and dampness dispelling, vital Qi strengthening and fixed formula utilizing should be emphasized.
