“Corner Medicines” is an organic combination of three-flavored Chinese medicines that have interrelated effects.It is based on the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine and is based on the premise of syndrome differentiation and treatment.With the core characteristics of “three legs stand up, each other is a corner”, it is a special form between traditional Chinese medicine and prescriptions, which can be formulated independently.This special form can be used independently or as a main or auxiliary medicine in prescriptions, which can significantly improve clinical efficacy.In the Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases and Synopsis of Golden Chamber, there were precise compatibility of prescriptions, and streamlined prescriptions.Based on the original text, this paper taking relieving superficies formula as the starting point, analyzing and discussing the compatibility features of the “Corner Medicine”, the relieving medicine in the classical prescriptions, elaborating the “Corner Medicines” in 9 perspectives, namely, relieving superficies syndrome by relieving muscles, inducing sweating, dispelling the cold, clearing heat, resolving fluid retention, clearing interior, resolving qi, warming channel and strengthening yang qi.Through the summery of the “Corner Medicine”, the reliving superficies medicine of ZHANG Zhongjing, we expected to form a preliminary understanding of the value of the “Corner Medicines” in classical prescriptions and to provide new ways of thinking for the clinical application of those prescriptions, and ultimately to expand the scope of the application.
