To explore the clinical effects of Qiju Dihuang Decoction combined with Western medicine on type 2 diabetic xerophthalmia.Methods:A total of 110 patients with type 2 diabetic xerophthalmia admitted to Xi'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2018 to December 2018 were selected and divided into into a control group and a study group according to random number table method，with 55 cases(110 eyes)in each group.In control group，patients were given routine treatment，in study group，patients were given Qiju Dihuang Decoction on the basis of routine treatment.The efficacy and safety of the 2 groups were evaluated.The time of tear film rupture(BUT)，lacrimal secretion test(SIT)，tarsal gland secretion score and quality of life were compared before and after treatment.Results:The comprehensive effective rate of the study group was 90.91% significantly higher than that of the control group of 76.36%，with significant difference(P<0.05).After treatment，BUT，SIT and NEI-VFQ-25 scores in both groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment，the meibomian gland secretion scores and meibomian gland deficiency score in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).The improvement in the study group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the 2 groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Qiju Dihuang Decoction combined with Western medicine has a high clinical effects on dry eye of type 2 diabetes mellitus，which is more conducive to improving eye symptoms，increasing tear secretion and improving quality of life.
