To observe the clinical curative effects of treating functional gastrointestinal overlap irritable bowel syndrome disease using soothing liver and invigorating spleen,providing a more effective treatment method for preventing and treating functional gastrointestinal overlap syndrome with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Methods:A multi-center,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled study was adopted,and a total of 108 patients were selected as the research objects from June 2016 to July 2018 admitted in the Digestive Center of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated to Capital Medical University,Shunyi Hospital of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and Yanqing Hospital of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and were randomly divided into a TCM group(n＝53)and a placebo group(n＝52).They were treated with Shugan Jianpi Decoction and placebo respectively.The treatment course of the 2 groups was 4 weeks.Before treatment,after 2 weeks of treatment and 4 weeks of treatment,the patient's main Western medicine clinical symptom score,IBS condition change score and stool characteristics were recorded.Results:1)Evaluation of the overall curative effects of Western medicine symptoms：the total effective rate of the TCM group was 81%,and the total effective rate of the placebo group was 46%.The curative effects of TCM group was better than that of the placebo group(P<0.01).2)Compared with the placebo group,the curative effects of the TCM group on upper abdominal pain,upper abdominal burning sensation,nausea,and early satiety was statistically significant(P<0.05).3)Evaluation of curative effect of changes in IBS condition：the total effective rates of the TCM group and the placebo group were 83% and 52%,respectively,and there was a significant difference between the groups(P<0.01).4)Evaluation of the curative effect of stool characteristics：after treatment,the TCM group was better than the placebo group in terms of the maximum number of bowel movements per day and the number of days of defecate urgency in 10 days(P<0.05).Conclusion:Shugan Jianpi Formula treating FD overlap IBS has good clinical curative effect.
