Tongue diagnosis is an important reference in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation and treatment. It belongs to the content of TCM inspection. Tongue diagnosis is widely used in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, and it also focuses on the diagnosis of tongue image for malignant tumors. Based on the collation and analysis of the literature on tongue image of malignant tumors in recent 10 years, this paper expounds the current research status of tongue diagnosis in malignant tumors. Most studies proved that the tongue images of patients with malignant tumors were mainly characterized by “blood stasis”, and that tongue images were correlated with the types of tumors,clinical stages and pathological types et al, but mostly samples of studies were so small that we cannot found regulation. In addition, the microscopic study of tongue images of tumors is also increasing. However, the biological behavior behind different tongue images needs more data to be excavated and analyzed.
