Abstract:In December 2000,Victoria issued the first Chinese Medicine Law,the Chinese Medicine Registration Law,which was the first milestone in the history of Chinese medicine overseas development.Since 2009,the Australian Government announced that Chinese medicine practitioners in Australia would be registered from July 1st,2012.By the end of 2018,there were 4 882 registered Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists. After comprehensive legislation, the development of Chinese medicine made significant progress in Australia, but inevitably there will be some problems, such as the smaller scope of practice; the higher language requirements for practitioners; still being excluded from the National Health Care Benefit Plan; restricted sale for Chinese medicines, etc. With the continuous advancement of internationalization of Chinese medicine, these problems need to be solved urgently. Also,it will provide new ideas for the development of Chinese medicine in other overseas countries.
