Abstract:Asthenospermia is characterized by low sperm motility,which accounts for a large proportion of male infertility.As the energy supply center of sperm,mitochondria can transform glucose and other metabolic substrates into ATP through oxidative phosphorylation,which supplies sperm movement.Therefore,mitochondrial energy metabolism function is closely related to sperm motility.Through the research and analysis of the relevant literature in recent years,it is found that the damage of sperm metabolism is mainly related to the decline of respiratory chain complex activity,the decrease of MMP,the change of mtDNA and the damage of ROS to mitochondria,and the treatment of asthenospermia by traditional Chinese medicine is also related to the improvement of mitochondrial energy metabolism.
