Paederia scandens (Lour) Merr belongs to genus rubiaceae,and is a common folk medicine.The main chemical components of Paederia scandens are irido--id glycoside,favonoid,volatile oil and phenylpropylene etc.It possesses a lot of pharmacolo--gical effects,such as anti-inflammatory,analgesic and anti-tumor.It is clinically used for the treatment of cancer pain,diabetic foot and gastrointestinal diseases.The word “Paederia scandens”,“ chemical ingredient”,“activity” in Chinese and English are used as key words to combined query relevant literature in Pubmed,Web of Science,CNKI,Wanfang,VIP and other databases in recent years.This paper reviews the chemical composition and pharmacological activities of Paederia scandens for providing reference and for the further research and utilization of Paederia scandens.
